Description

Here is a nice Ludwig Big Beat from the 1970's; the sizes are 22"x14", 12"x8", 13"x9", 16"x16", and the drums are in almost perfect condition. On the upper side of the floor tom there is a Tama-style bracket; the previous owner used it to hang a little cymbal or a cowbell, as pictured above. Anyway, this bracket could be put off and the 2 holes could be filled and recovered with a similar black wrap.

Three plies mahogany\poplar\maple shells, with maple glued reinforced rings, one of the last produced by Ludwig, soon replaced by six plies maple shells: more power and definition, vintage tone maybe lost forever...

The drums are covered with a Black Cortex wrap, produced from 1974 until 1984; the Blue \Olive badges have 1729008\1762570 serial numbers. The drums are completely original, with the only exception of the wing nut of the double tom holder.

A very versatile set, it will suit most musical situations.
